There are two ways to get to Downtown Santa Monica by bus and the travel times vary depending on which option you choose.

All public transport options include taking a free LAX shuttle service. It does not run between 2am and 4am.

The travel time to the Aviation Station is around 15 minutes. It’s located south of the airport, so you’ll travel up north again, going around LAX, adding another 15 minutes to the journey. In total, this option will add another half an hour to your journey, not including the waiting time at the Aviation Station.

The bus costs $1.25 per person and you should have the exact amount. You’ll pay directly to the driver.

The travel time on the Route 3 bus from the Aviation Station will be between 40 minutes and one hour, in addition to the travel time from the airport.
