It’s that time of the year again when we all look forward to travelling more and enjoying better weather. As you would know by now, I travel all year-round and the past couple of years were really tough with all the limitations and extra requirements to travel. Now that I have a few trips planned, I want to share how I’ll save money with an eDreams Prime membership.

I’m really excited that I  have already lined up a few cool destinations for this year. Starting with the UAE, I will be visiting glitzy Dubai and Abu Dhabi, as well as exploring lesser-known parts of the country, including Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, which offer great scenery and also have some fantastic hotels.

Flying with an eDreams Prime membership

Next, there will be a month-long trip around India, followed by Sri Lanka and a few days in the Maldives, which is a short flight away from Colombo. Then, I will be exploring the Northern India attractions, before heading south. So I’ll be taking quite a few domestic flights. And if you’ve been to India before, you will agree that flying there is not cheap.

With so many flights lined up, any discount I can get is welcome. While searching for my flights, I found out I can save a fair bit on my flights and accommodation with eDreams Prime.

It’s one of my favourite travel booking sites, often selling the best fares.

What Is eDreams Prime, Exactly?

For those who are not familiar with it, eDreams is an OTA (online travel agency), one of the pioneers in such services. On eDreams, you can book your plane tickets, holiday packages, as well as accommodation and car hire.

Prime is a subscription-based service that offers you discounts on every flight booked on the website. The discount applies to everyone in your party.

You will get different discounts depending on how much you’re paying for your flights. Below is the breakdown.

Price of flight Average Prime savings per flight
€0 – €149 €20
€150 – €299 €30
€300 – €499 €40
≥ €500 up to €90

On top of that, you can get up to 50% discount on your accommodation bookings and €40 on your car hire.

eDreams Prime Price: How Much Does It Cost?

The good thing is that there are no secrets or hidden charges to the eDreams Prime price. It costs €54.99 for a full year and you will get discounted prices on all items booked on the website.

As you could see on the chart, with eDreams Prime the price of your flights, accommodation, car hire, travel insurance, and cruise will lower considerably. So, the more you spend, the higher the discount.

Is An eDreams Prime Membership Worth It?

By now, it’s only fair if you’re asking yourself whether eDrams Prime is worth it. If you travel on a budget only once a year, it may not be for you. You really have to do the maths.

But if you travel frequently for work or on holiday, whether it’s by yourself or with family and or friends, then eDreams Prime is worth it.

Depending on how much you spend on your travels, you can get the money for your eDreams Prime subscription back with one single booking.

I will be travelling a fair bit this year – knock on wood – and the savings I’ll get on the trips I mentioned earlier already pay for my subscription. That’s not even taking into consideration my accommodation, which still needs to be booked.

Here’s is how much I will save on flights on some of my upcoming trips using my eDreams Prime membership:

London-Dubai-London: €59.39 pp saved

London-Mumbai-London: €53 pp saved

As you can see, with the first flight I’ll be saving more than the cost of the annual Prime membership. With the other flights, I’ll also save a similar amount. The totals savings with an eDreams Prime membership will be a whopping €164!

The eDreams Prime Free Trial

Another reason I think it’s worth it is that eDreams Prime offers a free trial. As you search for flights on the website, you will see the full price and the Prime discount next to it.

If you go ahead with the booking, all you have to do is to purchase the booking, create a login and your eDreams Prime free trial kicks in.

The free trial is valid for 30 days from your first purchase. So you if have a few trips lined up, you can book your flights and accommodation and take advantage of the Prime discounts with your free trial.

After 30 days, you will be charged your annual subscription. You can click here for more details.

eDreams Prime Day, Another Membership Benefit

eDreams Prime Day is another benefit you will get with your membership. “What is eDreams Prime Day?”, you may ask yourself.  Let’s go into it in more detail.

In the same fashion as a Black Friday event, you will have a few days when you get extra discounts on your travel bookings with your eDreams Prime subscription. One of the main differences is that it takes place at least twice a year, giving you more flexibility in planning your travels and more opportunities to save. The dates may also vary from one year to the other.

More than 300,000 members took part in the latest eDreams Prime Day edition, booking flights and hotel rooms with great deals. This time, it will also include discounts on car rentals.

In 2023, the first eDreams Prime Day takes place between 31st January and 2nd February. Despite the name, it’s not just that one single day that you can book your next trip with a good discount.

That’s the fifth Prime Day edition, bringing even more travel deals. Some of the benefits available to members will include:

  • Up to 60% discounts on 100% of flights;
  • Prime Day also comes with a voucher on accommodation, enjoy 10% extra discount on your next booking
  • Discounts on car rental to include a 30% off in web bookings and 40% off exclusively on the app
  • Free exclusive customer service hotline 24/7

It will be possible to book and get discounts from some major airlines, including Air Europa, Qatar Airways, Lufthansa  Air Malta (great if you want to book your summer holidays) and more.

So, do you have to already be an eDreams Prime member to get discounts on Prime Day?

One of the great things about the eDreams Prime membership, as explained before, is that you can become a member as you make your first booking. That way, you will only commit after already benefiting from some travel deals. This is also true when eDreams Prime Day takes place.

Another way to benefit from the next eDreams Prime Day event is by downloading the eDreams app, available both on the App Store and Play Store. By downloading the app, you will have access to Prime Day deals one day before anyone else.

So for the next event, you will be able to log onto the app and browse for some juicy travel deals on 30th January. As they say, “the early bird catches the worm”! And let’s not forget that you still have a 30-day free trial.
