So we’re going to share with you some ways to save money when traveling on a budget, but still enjoy your time to the fullest.

Traveling with a group is usually going to be more affordable for you than going solo, especially in lodging where the price could go down for every extra person. There are plenty of things you can split the price of including food and attractions. It’s also safer to have friends around when in unfamiliar territories.

There are lots of countries where your currency can go a long way, especially the dollar or Euro. It will really stretch and make you capable of touring much of the country even if you’re very restricted on your budget. These countries could be Turkey, Georgia, Thailand among many others. You can experience a great travel for as little as $20 a day for backpackers or an average of $40 a day for other types of travelers.

Book Late

While people are busy traveling to Europe, you can choose touristic destinations that are just as popular, more exotic but less expensive like South Africa. People aren’t always aware that places on this continent are ideal destinations.  Keep your eyes peeled for last minute deals because they’ll be less expensive, making you save a good chunk of money. You can find many cheap flights to Cape Town in South Africa, for example, at nearly any time of the year.

Camp Out On Public Land

Camping will always be the most affordable way to travel. Camping fees in national parks, for example, can be as little $15 dollars per night. In Japan and some Scandinavian countries, you can camp on public land for free. If you’re not a big fan of camping, you can still find lodges or rooms that will cost you a small amount for a bed, hot water and bathroom.

Voluntourism

It’s not a made up word, and it’s popular among travelers where in return for food and board, you volunteer to help locals of the area. You can teach a second language or help build houses for them. This way will save you lots on costs, allow you to do something nice for the country hosting you, and form close bonds with locals who will help you get better familiar with the area you’re in.
