Where to Sleep in Buenos Aires - Moreno Hotel Buenos Aires

On my last trip to Buenos Aires, I had the chance to try out a few different hotels. No, I wasn’t invited by them to write a review, I just wanted to get to know different establishments, and give you recommendations of where to sleep in Buenos Aires. See, how nice I am? 🙂 After spending five nights with my family at another hotel, which I described here, I moved on my own to the also stylish Moreno Hotel, in the most-sought-after San Telmo area. My first impressions were great, although the entrance is slightly unusual – you have to go through a corridor with colourful tiles and take an old fashioned lift, before you get to the reception area.

The reception staff, although professional, was a bit cold, but once I got to my room, I couldn’t care less. The room was very spacious, with dark wooden floor, a super king-size bed, a sofa and a red leather and wood armchair, and a large working desk. Considering how spacious the room was, I found the wardrobe space small, but since I travel light, it was enough for me.

The marble bathroom was very modern and had a rainshower. The room also had a small kitchen area with minibar and microwave, so perfect for those who like to make a light meal themselves.

Breakfast was included in my room rate, and it is served on the to floor. There was a good variety of fruits, pastries and juice, but there was no hot meal option. You can have it indoors or in the terrace, enjoying the views over San Telmo and the modern buildings in Puerto Madero.

Those who want to have a drink in the area, can go downstairs to Aldo’s the hotel restaurant, which has only street entrance.

In addition to free wifi throughout the hotel – and with good speed -, there’s also a computer for guest use in the lobby.

I stayed here for just one night, but would have stayed longer, if not on a mission to check out other hotels.

Why I liked Moreno Hotel

– Location, location, location: San Telmo is one of the most charming areas in Buenos Aires.
– Style: Modern with a traditional touch.
– Immaculately clean!
– Excellent value for money – my room cost only 79USD including taxes.

What Could Be Better

– The staff are very professional, but I found the receptionists cold.
