One of Miami’s unique spots is located in the up-and-coming Wynwood neighborhood, where you can check out murals from famous and local graffiti artists. Channel your inner model and get some artsy snaps here, then.

2- Explore Historic Ocean Drive

This Art-Deco stretch of South Beach showcases the old-school Miami. Don’t miss the Versace Mansion (1116 Ocean Drive) where you can stand on the famous front steps. You can see more than 800 Art-Deco buildings in this neighborhood, the largest collection of this style in the world.

4- Stroll Wynwood’s Galleries During Art Walk

5- Attend A New World Symphony WallCast Concert

A little known fact, Miami is home to one of the world’s best orchestra fellowship programs, where graduates of top music schools (Julliard, etc.) will prepare to join professional orchestras. The New World Symphony’s concerts aren’t cheap, but they generously offer an outdoor live-stream in the park outside their concert hall that is available to the public for free.

Although Brickell’s new City Centre mall seems to have all the hype right now, don’t forget about the cute Bayside Marketplace, where you can listen to live music every evening next to the marina. Keep your eyes peeled for dolphins and manatees too – they’re known to swim in the bay.

7- Marvel At Coral Gables’ Banyan Trees

Drive, walk, or bike down Old Cutler Road in Coral Gables to get a good look at dozens of giant Banyan trees. These trees are native to India, but thrive in Florida’s tropical climate, where over 1,000 grow in the Coral Gables area. Many of them were planted in the 1920’s, but they still enhance the area today.

8- Watch The Cruise Ships Sail Away At Museum Park

Over 4 million cruise passengers sail out of Port Miami each year, and you can watch and wave as they depart from nearby Museum Park. Busy days have five of six ships in port, and they all head out to see between 4 and 7pm. Some ships do a dramatic U-turn to exit the port, which makes for exciting views!

9- Feel Like You’re Visiting Cuba On Calle Ocho

Not only is Calle Ocho famous for the delicious Cuban food at Versailles, but also the Cuban culture that you feel walking down the street. Don’t miss Maximo Gomez Park, where locals play dominoes all day, and Paseo de la Estrellas, where Latin music and film icons are celebrated as in Hollywood’s Walk of Fame. On the last Friday of each month, live music and street performers turn la calle into a fiesta!

Miami is home to lots of luxury hotels, and many of them are in close proximity on South Beach. Start at the famous Fontainebleau, and walk down Collins Avenue, stopping in the cool Confidante Hotel (where Dua Lipa’s new video was shot), the new Faena hotel (spot their golden mammoth sculpture by the beach), the luxe Miami Beach EDITION, the eco-chic 1 Hotel South Beach, the modern W South Beach, and the list goes on.
